
Florence has a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University, New Brunswick, and a B. Sc. in Mental Health Psychology from the University of Toronto, Canada. Florence is a Registered Psychotherapist(Qualifying) and in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She has also worked as a Support and Youth Care Worker at three youth group homes, a treatment center for at-risk youth, and as an educator in elementary and high schools, assisting students with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Florence operates from the following therapeutic framework: Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. Her approach is client-centered, allowing her to take an active role by assisting clients in formulating their goals for treatment. In addition, she is trauma-informed and uses numerous trauma-specific interventions to assist her clients in the sessions.
Florence is empathetic, very professional, and ready to assist clients in embracing their uniqueness. She encourages her clients to know that no matter what they are going through, they will eventually have a better future. Florence loves to work collaboratively with people to uncover the strengths they already possess that may be hidden.
